I’m often asked if I am afraid of the responsibility. I say ‘I love what I do, there is nothing better than to enjoy what never seems like work.’
I do believe a picture is worth more than a thousand words.
I am one of ten siblings, and grew up in North Wales and studied computing at Leeds Uni. My brother was my inspiration, starting his own business, I took my first wedding booking on the strength of holiday photos I’d taken. The couple wished they’d asked me to stay to capture the evening reception. That was in August 2004…
Whereas camera tech had advanced, I always felt printed photos remained static in terms of quality. Alas I have been astounded by the new print company I’ve found, using Canon ‘Dreamlabo’ printer – the prints have to be seen to be believed. The difference is amazing, seen as yet by only a few couples. (Dec 2019)
Cameras… I’ve used Canon, Nikon, Leica, and more recently Hasselblad (Medium Format Digital). I’ve loved images from each type of camera, though Hasselblad have something special I’ve not seen since 2008/9 when I shot with Leica’s first digital rangefinder.
The Hasselblad images are stunning! If you’d like to see the camera:
